Dubrovnik is a city that doesn’t do « subtle. » Between its ancient stone walls and the deep blue of the Adriatic, it’s the ultimate stage for a wedding with serious character. For Nives and Antonio, it wasn’t just a pretty backdrop, it was a living, breathing part of their story. A mix of sacred tradition, regal elegance, and a wild street party.
Morning Emotions at the Hilton Imperial
The day kicked off at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, in that quiet, high-energy atmosphere shared between women: Nives, her mom, her two sisters, and her best friend. I love these suspended moments right before everything accelerates.
Nives looked absolutely imperial—a stunning worked corset, an endless train… she wasn’t just a bride; she was a Queen. Her presence perfectly matched the grandeur of the setting we were about to enter.
The Parade: From Church to Coast
After a solemn ceremony in the breathtaking Church of St. Ignatius, we experienced the wildest part of the day. To reach the reception venue, we walked through the entire center of Dubrovnik. This wasn’t a commute; it was a parade. The entire wedding party was singing and dancing through the limestone streets, and the energy was so infectious that strangers and tourists joined the celebration. This kind of « beautiful chaos » is exactly what I love to document: real life, unscripted and raw.
We eventually reached Banje Beach Restaurant Lounge & Club, where the celebration continued right by the water, the sound of the waves mixing with the party.
The Aftermath: A Quiet Session at Villa Cingrija
The next day, once the adrenaline had settled, we met again for a much more intimate couple’s session. This was the perfect contrast to the heat of the wedding day.
We escaped to the gardens of Villa Cingrija. Away from the crowds, with the sea as our only witness, we captured timeless, intimate portraits. No crowds, no chanting—just Nives and Antonio, soft light, and the horizon. These images have a different soul: calmer, more timeless, and deeply personal.
Dubrovnik is all about that balance—the silence of a historic church versus the roar of a party in the streets. Capturing Nives and Antonio’s wedding was a reminder that the best images happen when you let the emotion and the energy take the lead.
